ok i sorted out the parts list for the kaossilator thing but i might name it after some other crap. thing is, it costs probably around 600-700 to make... probably will never see the sun anytime soon unless i sell some of my gear, which i don't want to do
it should be a fun project still when i can afford it, just not the coding part with the ai... it will make all sorts of mistakes and shit but i do not have the time to learn coding languages just for a one off.
album coming along, kinda. it might have more remixes than i planned, since the idea well always hits a wall after the initial melody. no progress yet on the band stuff, didn't get to record this weekend.
i definitely need to build that gadget man, i wouldn't separate from it once i do. it'll be easier to make music that way 100 percent. might even just make 2, a mini, and a main. i have to run it off of a raspberry pi 5, the main box.
some soldering and whatnot, usb ports, midi board, mini oled display + encoder array (like the akai force), faders, and possible 16 pad array, and then the shell has to get printed. once all that is done, software 'coding' then i'm done
might make a mini version on the side so i can make proper tracks on the go, as that is usually when ideas spark the most. if all of that turns out well shitterton bill lives. but if not, and this album comes out sucking dick then it will lie dormant until mecha

i don't understand, why does korg not listen to people? or have the capability to listen at all to anything? kaoss replay looks interesting, but doesn't do shit i need it to do or shit anyone needs at all that the kaoss pad line can't do.

delaney for what i am about to say but i'm thinking of USING AI (since i don't know how to code, don't have the time or patience to learn) to create and sort out the backend of code for my own synthesizer/sampler thing.
it'll be like an mpc one but a kaossilator, i'll frankenstein some of the gear i have, custom print a casing for it, have the dreaded ai do the coding for the software and ui and whatnot, and i do all the physicals, the shouting at ai to do
a specific color and font for the ui, and making it translate my very specific idea into the code for the workings of the thing. now comes the ai opinion, i think ai should be used that way but NEVER creatively. grandmas should be imprisoned for
making suno joke songs for their grandkids daily, but if you don't know how to get rid of some coding glitch go to the ai and try and retain some of the info so you won't have to go back. it should never be more than a tool or crutch, shouldn't be the whole piece of art
i'm thinking since i don't have shit shaking for a while after this album i'll lay out the plans for this thing and gather the necessary whatnots, arduinos or whatever for it. since korg won't. shouts out delaney and new bandmate lily and new bus farers

doing everything but actually making music. i've been thinking about "creating" my own version of the app i started making music on but better. not for release obviously but to make making music a bit easier.
i did a remix of cave tune for the new album. i'll be doing this last album, and then mecha. after that, i'm closing up shop on either the naming of everything OR closing up shop on everything over here.
i'll still make music, but not under the current names. you can't get booked like that, and i've also found a few bandmates i think, so obviously can't go under epic boner jamz if it's more than just me doing a thing.
if you liked dragonfly infest you'll like the new album, i'll be a bit less harsh on trying to sound like the best thing i have no experience making within like a month. it's just simple dnb, with the old school tools plus the newish sounds. 15 tracks

got the roland w30, the akai force, the kaossilator pro. still need the mpk mini plus. i've decided to do another album before i start working with others for the mecha stuff. probably just something almost like dragonfly infest on steroids.
if i can pull off not getting extremely angry at the kaossilator pro's poor touch correction (quantization) then i will have the album out not too far off. but if not it'll be another factory situation

as you can see, album finished... enough. finished enough. i'm done for a bit. gonna continue seeking through shitholes like vampr & bandmix, but as of now i'm gonna stop until i get my akai force.
once that rolls in i'm gonna work on another album but i can't just work with a mouse and keyboard and 2 hours of sleep. starting college soon, so...
will be even more slim especially without the force. album results 3 days out... not looking as good as previous work did but all good whatever... lost an important person to me so that'll suck even more joy for making shit.
why did nobody tell me about the kaoss replay? that'd be a great addition to my setup. working on getting this force, a small mixing console, and some native instruments stuff, a kontrol s49 with the screens on that bitch. cool device.

i'm finishing up the remaining 2 tracks on the album... but it's not gonna come out like how i envisioned. i hope i can do better on the next album. i want to do vocals but i have trouble writing and recording lyrics.
i can either seek someone out or clown out and do em myself, but... yeah. i have the mecha album to work on next, as well as playing shows and shit. it was fun in the beginning but i'm not feeling it anymore.
starting up some "drastic life changing" shit soon, may cut into the music. will also be buying more gear, main piece the akai force. practicing the ableton some more, might get an akai fire and crack it so it works with ableton.
the mecha stuff is supposed to be dawless... but i think it'll have to be half and half. maybe like 6 tracks are completely done on the w30, and the other half live improv with ableton + controllers.
i've been gear nerding more than actually making music, pardon me. i think once i release the album i'll have a clean slate to just come up with new shit, i'll be tapped out of half done demos, or working down one lane of style, etc
it'll just be whatever i want, without trying to be some sorta hardhitting industrial twist on old dnb. will try to bring people in on this one aggressively, so it's completely improv on the spot random but good enough stuff.

there was the issue of routing audio so i ended up recording it through a discord call, but the decks suck shit and kept glitching with the beatmatching, all around difficult but fun. and it holds up now which is cool, at the time i hated it
the songwriting process is quite annoying but i wanna get it out before year's end. will be getting the shit i need for mecha soon so... i think that'll be a really good and fun album to make, we'll see. or it might just suck dick who knows. put up a few preview songs but the dnb one might not make it in

working again on album. 8/16 tracks done? forgot. the hurdle will be just writing and recording lyrics and vocals, and probably sticking to a song idea and finishing it.
live setup is finished and i'm practicing and mapping. not too hard, but hard shortening everything to fit a full hour or less.

i was out for a bit. purchased the last live equipment needed, akai apc40 mk1. jason uses it and it's the exact controller i imagined myself needing, so... thought it would work for me. practicing slowly. probably no gigs this year, maybe next.
debating on whether to make factory 20 songs instead of 15, if my drive allows for it then i'll do it. psychite is off the table for a long while, we'll see. i really wanna put out something now but nothing is finished enough, or doesn't feel long enough. factory is strictly 15 tracks. now cue booing noises, i could whip up some stuff as i practice on the good ol' phone, but i don't know. i'm a bit bored. debating on whether i should do a half live pa set playing and messing around with already existing tracks, or doing a complete live pa improv set. but i would not wanna do it alone, it would be way more fun with other people... will consider building it alone down the line... or down the hall? (wink wink)

very lost. easiest route is the live shishen, but ableton is frightening to learn from scratch, and i need one more piece of equipment

i gotta figure out how to get a site chat and/or forum working although it'd be easier to use discord since you have both chat and forums... but it is discord... not even much of a following to have a site forum and chat, it is just a neat idea in my head
the creation of the site is a distraction from working on music, but is fun to mess around with. i have to figure out what the vault page even will be. probably fileshare
